Older/Less Active Cats
The needs of older or less active adult
cats change as they age. A reduced activity level or
slower metabolism may require fewer calories and less
fat. Flint River Ranch's Lite Adult Cat Food is
a complete and balanced formula to meet these special
needs.
Read Your Pet Food Label!
Do it now! Read what is in the pet food
you are currently using. Even if it's considered "premium" or "natural," read
it. Make sure you are getting what you think you are
paying for. The life of your pet depends upon it.
Flint River Ranch's chicken meal
and other meat sources do not include meat by-products
such as chicken feet, chicken heads, duck heads, beaks,
feathers, fish heads, hides, hoofs and intestines. There
are no food by-products such as corn, cottonseed, corn
cobs, citrus pulp, soy beans, fillers, and no other foreign
materials such as noxious weeds, straw, hulls or chaff
in our product.
Nutrition Enhances Health & Longevity
There is ample scientific evidence that
proper nutrition and correct eating habits can enhance
health, performance and longevity. We are starting to
understand that the over-processing and chemical additives
which add color and texture can destroy much of the nutritional
value of both people food and pet food. Today, the choice
of a nutritionally superior food for pets should be based
on an informed understanding and appreciation of ingredient
quality and product formulation.
The Chicken and Lamb Meal formula is manufactured
under carefully controlled conditions and temperatures
- resulting in better nutrition, palatability and digestibility
for your pet. The secret to good nutrition is not
how many nutrients are present in a cat's food, but rather,
how available they are and how efficiently they can he
utilizcd when digested. High digestibility means
your pet requires less food and produces smaller, firmer
stools and less clean-up.
RIGHT A WAY YOU'LL NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE!

Protein
The amino acids provided by the Chicken and Lamb
Meal are the basic building blocks of muscle, skin, coat,
bone, blood and the immune system. The most important
ingredient in a cat's diet is protein. We guarantee protein
analysis of not less than 32%.
Essential Taurine
The high quality Chicken Meal provides Taurine, an
essential amino acid for cats, at much higher levels
than the poultry by-products used in most cat foods.
It is important for eyes, heart, nervous and reproductive
systems.
Fats
The human grade fat source has no ethoxyquin. It
is naturally preserved with Vitamin E. Fats provide energy
and include essentials for cell structure, hormones,
enzymes and fat soluble vitamins. Flint River Ranch guarantees
not less than 20% crude fat.
Beet Pulp
By far, the best source of fiber. It does a better job of moving
the nutrients through the digestive systems and acts as a calming
base for forming the stool in the colon. Vitamins, minerals
and nutrients are first digested in the stomach - then absorbed
into the blood through the intestinal walls. If those walls
are covered with slime/mucus - absorption of these life-sustaining
nutrients is reduced. Beet pulp gently massages intestinal
walls, removing the mucus and aids in the bowel movement.
Feline Urological Syndrome (FUS)
According to Flint River Ranch research,
a history of feeding poor quality food over a long period
of time increases the chances of bladder problems such
as FUS (feline urological syndrome) caused by the accumulation
of fine crystals within the bladder and urethra, based
on struvite, which is a crystalline compound of magnesium.
These crystals are formed over months or even years.
FUS is more common in overweight, neutered cats, and
many veterinarians believe diet plays a major role in
causing it.
Recent findings show that while ash was
responsible for urinary tract trouble, high levels of
magnsium tends to encourage the production of alkaline
urine. Given the above, Flint River Ranch believes
that low levels of ash and magnesium are important in
the prevention of FUS and, as a result, their cat foods
are formulated to contain less than 5.6% ash content
and 0.095% of magnesium. This promotes low urinary pH
and helps prevent FUS. The company monitors a group of
45 cats of various ages and breeds who have been eating Flint
River Ranch for the last three years, and they report
no signs of any problems developing.

Feeding
Guide
Cats are finicky eaters. Our tests show
that besides flavor and aroma, texture and shape are
very important in determining cat food palatability.
Cats first smell their food; if it passes this test,
shape then becomes important because it determines the
way it feels and breaks apart in the cat's mouth.
The price of cat food, like other products,
most often depends on the grade and quality. Flint
River Ranch cat food will actually he cheaper to
feed than other foods costing less, You will be able
to see the difference in your cat's healthy skin, coat
and energy level. Healthy nutrition can also mean less
medical bills. We believe your cat deserves the best
possible food and health.
Adult cats (one year or older) can be fed
once or twice a day. This depends upon what keeps your
cat happy. Your cat should be looking for food when the
next meal is due. Teach them to eat at meal times. The
amount your cat eats in 15-20 minutes is about the amount
they should be fed at that meal. Adjust the food as you
notice increase or decrease in the animal's weight.
10-15 lb. Cat - About 1 Cup/Day
Fresh water should be available at all
times as your cat will drink more water when fed dry
food. Maintaining fresh, clean water is as important
for your cat as the type of food fed.
