DONNA'S COMMENTS
I think the transfer of the list to ONElist has been a smooth move. If
anybody is having problems, let us know this week. Managing a mailing list
is very time-consuming and we want to invest our time in teaching and
answering questions as much as possible. Thank you for being part of our
Natural Pet News mailing list. :-)
Tomorrow, February 29, is ODD SOCKS FOR ANIMALS DAY. It's really a cool
thing! Check it out: http://oddsocks.com/
Tomorrow is also DORIS DAY ANIMAL LEAGUE SPAY DAY U.S.A. If you'd like more
information on that, here's a link:

Have a Great Week!

HEALTH/HERBAL INFO
SHINY COATS
One teaspoon (less for very small animals, such as ferrets) of Cod Liver Oil
dribbled over the pet's food once or twice per week will give a thick, shiny
coat, as well as provide many nutrients needed by your pet's body.
If that smell or flavor won't do. Try Flax Seed Oil or Olive Oil. The
essential fatty acids are key to many functions in the body. To read more
about essential fatty acids:

DIARRHEA or VOMITING
Slippery Elm is useful for treating diarrhea, vomiting, and sensitive
stomachs for pets. It can be made into a gruel with some broth of whatever
flavor the pet favors. It coats and soothes the stomach and intestinal
tract while picking up impurities and bulking the stool.
Pets seem to have more sensitive stomachs than they used to. Possibly from
the stressful lifestyles of their owners. Our animal buddies do "absorb our
energy" and react to the environment also.

SUCCESS STORY
INCONTINENCE
"We noticed our dog was suffering from incontinence. Our vet said her
lack
of bladder control may be Cystitis. We decided to take matters in our own
hands and started using COLLOIDAL SILVER in her food each day. Within a week
we noticed her "leaking" had stopped and it's been under control since."M.S.

Personally, I've used an herbal formula, JP-X, for cystitis in cats and dogs
for over 12 years now and seen it do a great job also. Read more about
JP-X: http://www.theherbsplace.com/jpx.html

BEHAVIORAL/EMOTIONAL ISSUE
DON'T GET A DOG IF YOU DON'T TRAIN IT!
If you cannot, or are not willing to, invest the time and effort necessary
to effectively train and socialize your dog, please do not get a dog.
Read "The Life and Death of an Untrained Dog" by Robert J. Hoffman,
Humane
Society of Ventura County, California, to gain more personal insight into
the importance of properly training your dog.

PRODUCT FOCUS
BLACK WALNUT is used for fungus infections, roundworms, tapeworms,
parasites, ringworm. Apply externally to ringworm and give internally also.
The part of the Black Walnut used is the hulls. An extract is made or it
can be taken in capsule form. Many pet owners add it to the water. Robin,
in Atlanta, has been using it as part of a Heartworm Treatment and seems to
feel that her dog loves it. She can put it in the water or in the food and
he seems to enjoy it. Maybe he just knows it's something he needs?
