Just got in from the trip and we'll get to all the emails as soon as
possible. We had a wonderful trip. We got to teach and talk about natural
health). It's fun to meet internet folks that you've "known," but have
never seen.

We took a Swamp Tour while passing through Louisiana and that was awesome!
Nature never ceases to amaze me! There is such simplicity in it with yet
the wonder of the most incredible new discovery each moment.

It's nice to be back at "The Refuge" where we live and work. Our little
piece of the woods brings such joy and contentment as we realize how truly
blessed we are to be part of life itself.

Next time you look at that pet of yours, think about how uniquely it was
created....and how much you learn about life itself from it. All living
things teach us much about life!

FUN FACTS - CATNIP

Catnip isn't just for cats. The plant that drives many kitties wild has
actually been used on humans for ages. Throughout history, catnip has served
as a sedative for people, whereas in cats, it serves as a stimulant.

Before the introduction of tea from China, catnip tea was a regular beverage
in England. Traditional herbalists would use catnip to treat such conditions
as cancer, toothaches, corns and hives.

Catnip is the common name of the Nepeta cataria plant. For cats, the
attraction is due to a chemical called nepetalactone, found in the plant's
stems and leaves. Generally, kittens under the age of three months have very
little reaction to catnip. Around that age, however, they develop a love of
or indifference towards the plant.

HOT SPOTS - HERBAL SOOTHER

"I've used a home-made HOTSPOT remedy that works great. Here's the recipe:

3 capsules Sage, 1/4 tsp. Epsom Salts, and 2 cups of water. Bring this all
to a boil. Cool to room temperature and then strain out the powdered sage
and store in a 2-cup spray bottle or jar in the refrigerator to keep fresh.

Spray or wipe on hotspots, insect bites or any other skin abrasions as many
times a day as possible. It heals in about 3 days, and you should begin to
see some hair regrowth in a little over a week." Mary T.

Herb Usage Tips:
