I recently read an article on the internet where an individual accidentally
poisoned her dog while using garden products in her flower garden. It seems
she used bone meal and a commercial product at the same time on her roses
which were mulched with tree bark.

The dog, a Great Dane, was attracted to the smell of the bone meal and while
licking the meal off the mulch also digested the commercial rose product.
Within hours the dog was near death. The individual warned everyone to
thoroughly water-in any bone meal and not use commercial products for at
least two weeks after the bone meal.

You could also switch to organic gardening which would be more beneficial to
all life :-) Check out some organic gardening options! That's all we use
and they work beautifully!

ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS: THE HEALING FATS

Many people who are concerned about their animal's weight have a one-sided
view of fat. It's important to remember that some fats are absolutely
essential for health. These essential fatty acids (EFAs) cannot be made by
the body; they must be provided through food or supplements.

EFAs work at the cellular level, helping to regulate the cell's
moment-by-moment use of oxygen, production of energy, and transport of
electrons. EFAs are precursors to prostaglandins, hormone-like substances
that control blood pressure, platelet stickiness and kidney functions. EFAs
are also precursors to DHA, needed by organs including the brain, retina,
adrenals and testes. EFAs also help to: generate the electrical current to
keep hearts beating correctly; transport cholesterol; form hemoglobin;
support the immune system; prevent allergies (like skin problems), and more.

The two most essential of these fats are called omega-3 and omega-6. Omega-3
(alpha-linolenic acid) is found abundantly in flax and hemp seeds, and can
be derived from black currant seed oil, cold-water fish oils and northern
ocean algae. Omega-6 (linoleic acid) is abundant in evening primrose oil,
polyunsaturated safflower, sunflower, and corn oils.

MITES

"I've had an ongoing problem with skin mites on the ears of one of my
rabbits and after reading about Tea Tree Oil and mites decided to give it a
go. After all the flea powder and rinse had done little good.

I mixed some up with plain old vegetable oil [about 1 tablespoon and 3-4
drops of oil] and smothered her ears with it. I noticed a difference within
48 hours and have done it a second time, and her ears are looking about 200%
