Well, it seems that every week there is an issue of protection for animals.
It certainly keeps me ready with material for my "comments" section of this
ezine. Loving animals and pets gives us warm, cozy feelings, but having to
realize that not everybody has a mindset to want to protect and love animals
doesn't promote good feelings. However, we can make a difference,
especially since we are online and emails flooding in can often change
people's intentions and the record shows it works.

So, if you'd like to comment on this issue, feel free to check it out and
put your thoughts into action. Remember a kindly written email goes a lot
further than a radically written one.....so take some deep breaths and then

BOEING SHUTS DOWN CATS

Boeing, Long Beach has a feral cat problem. Animal advocates have
counselled them on how it can be controlled, along with offering help.
Instead, Boeing has decided to trap and euthanize the 200 feral cats that
have been living on a portion of the facility. Read how this came about and
what you can do to help.

WHAT'S IN YOUR MEDICINE CABINET CAN BE HARMFUL TO YOUR PET

That acetaminophen may help relieve your headache, but did you know that
pain killers and other common medications can be deadly to your animal
companions? The ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center (NAPCC) urges
all pet owners to keep prescription and over-the-counter drugs--such as cold
medicines, diet pills, antidepressants and vitamins--in closed cabinets out
of their animal companions' reach.

This includes herbal supplements, too. The label may read "all natural," but
that doesn't mean it can't harm your pet if accidentally ingested. A
popular herb-based diet aid has in fact been the cause of numerous
poisonings. It contains ma huang, which is like herbal ephedrine, and
guarana, which is like caffeine.

The NAPCC also runs an emergency hotline--1-888-4-ANI-HELP--which provides
