Update on the Boeing Feral Cats:
In 11th hour negotiations, the Boeing company's Long Beach, CA management
agreed to give the feral cats a one-year reprieve. More details in the
article.

Anybody that has a dog or loves animals would have to sympathize with the
poor lot in life greyhounds have had. The training for these dogs to race
is nothing less than inhumane and the conditions they are kept in is not
what would be called good since this industry is responsible for
the deaths of an estimated 20,000 dogs annually.
There seems to be hope in the future for greyhounds. On November 7,
Massachusetts residents will have the chance to vote yes on an initiative to
end dog racing in their state, thanks to the efforts of the grassroots group
GREY2K, and now they're appealing to dog lovers around the country for
contributions to help them win what promises to be a tough media battle
against the wealthy, powerful track owners.

** SUCCESS STORY **
DOGGIE COLOGNE AND DE-BUGGER
"I like a clean and good smelling dog, so I decided to make some "doggie
cologne." I used one cup of water, 6 drops each of Nature's Sunshine
Lavender Essential Oil and Tea Tree Oil along with one drop of Nature's
Sunshine's Sunshine Concentrate. I keep the solution in the fridge and
spritz my dog when he comes in from outside and towel him dry. Not only
does it keep him bug-free, the smell is very pleasant and keeps him
odor-free as well. Another option would be to spray a cloth and wipe down
the coat of your pet to remove the dirt s/he has picked up outside." BD's
