It has come to my attention that the FDA and the AAFCO ( this is the
organization that regulates pet food ingredients) have teamed up to stop pet
food manufacturers from including health supplements in the pet foods. Here
is a website that can give you more information -

In reading this material it appears to be a very real threat. Please visit
the website and read on the site what you can do to help stop this
encroachment on our freedoms to choose.
Also, next Monday is Earth Day. Doesn't it energize you to watch your pet
enjoy the outdoors? The Earth provides beauty all around us for healing.
Everybody has experienced some time in a garden where scents of the flowers
and beauty of color was so uplifting that you felt like your spirit was
being lifted to heavenly places. Have you ever laughed at the playful
antics of squirrels or felt joy as you listened to a wren singing loudly
early in the morning? Nature is all around us and all through us. It's
very healing. You can have your own backyard habitat for wildlife. Here's

READING THE CAT FOOD LABEL
Cats, like people, have certain specific nutritional
requirements. For the most part, how well the different cat foods
meet these needs has been ascertained through extensive testing
by regulatory organizations, most notably the Association of
American Feed Control Officials

When choosing a food for your cat, look for this type of
statement on the label: "Animal feeding tests using AAFCO
procedures."
When reviewing ingredients, remember that they're listed in
decreasing order by weight, which means the heavier, more
abundant ingredients will be first. These include meats (or fish)
and water. Remember, too, that cats are carnivores and must eat
meat. They do not do well on a vegetarian diet.

**SUCCESS STORIES**
PANCREAS HAS IMPROVED
I wanted to give you guys an update on Leo (my 2yr. old kitty)who had a
problem with his pancreas last fall. I tried him on the Pro-Pancreas. I did
not give it to him very regularly because he was fighting it so badly. I did
not see any difference in him either. I kept thinking about it and decided
to add LIV-J with the Pro-Pancreas since he had a very high bilirubin level
when he was tested for the pancreas problem. When I added the LIV-J I saw a
big difference in his energy level and overall stamina. I established a
place to medicate him (totally different from where I would spend time
petting him)and he gets his herbs every other day. He isn't fighting me as
badly now about being medicated. It's amazing to watch him when it is about
time to give his herbs. He gets a nervous energy look about him and paces.
About 30 min. after giving his herbs, he comes back with a laid back look
about him.

Never, ever attach a leash to a cat's collar. A hysterical cat
can leap and quite literally break her neck. A cagey cat may
simply turn and back away, pull the collar off, and disappear. A
harness and leash are the proper cat-walking equipment.
The preferred harness for cats is either a lightweight figure-H
or figure-eight halter. One strap goes around the cat's neck,
while the other wraps about her body behind the forelegs. The
leash should be lightweight cloth, nylon, or leather, no longer
than 6 feet. The leash is attached to a metal ring in the harness
above the cat's shoulders.
