NEW BOOK FOR HORSES!
Donna, my wife, received a book in the mail, apparently sent from the
publisher for her to do a review on it for this newsletter. The title of
the book is: THE PRACTICAL HORSE HERBAL
We have never owned a horse, but after moving to Virginia, Donna took riding
lessons because it "just seemed to fit" having moved to horse country.
Since the lessons (six) came along with saddling and grooming, she didn't
return for an advance training session. [grin]
For those of you who do own horses and are interested in an herbal guide,

** HEALTH/HERBAL INFO **
HARD STOOLS and/or CONSTIPATION
Canned pumpkin can be added to the food. With dogs begin with 1/4 teaspoon
and keep increasing each meal until stools become looser. With cats begin
with 1/8 teaspoon.
Make sure there is plenty of fresh water.
Give them lots of exercise, increasing SLOWLY and never exceeding your pet's
capabilities.
They may need some digestive enzymes. If they don't break down the food,
it's not going to be eliminated well. Proactazyme is a good choice to
administer in the capsule form or open it up and put it on the food. More

Many have found great success with the natural heartworm program found on

BIRTHDAY CAKE FOR DOGS
1lb ground beef-extra lean
8 eggs
1 cup oat meal
1/2 cup cracker crumbs
Using electric mixer, blend all items together until completely blended.
Pour into an oblong cake pan sprayed with ~on-stick spray. Bake in oven at
350 for 25- 35 minutes. Allw to cool. Carefully invert on to plate and
frost with non-fat sour cream or imitation potato topping. Store leftovers
in refrigerator.
