Sinus Support: Clear Head = Clear Thinking
Sinus Support EF is a unique herbal formula that supports nasal passages and
supplies nutrients for proper respiratory function. The formula features
synephrine (from immature orange peel). Synephrine is somewhat similar to
ephedrine, providing respiratory support, but it acts in a much milder
fashion. Synephrine helps antagonize the action of histamines. This unique
formula also contains several herbs that support respiratory function while
working to keep nasal passages clear: Capsicum, Burdock, Golden Seal,
Parsley, Horehound, Althea, and Yerba Santa.

Doggone Thief on the Loose
McLean, Va. (AP) - Police were looking for a black Labrador retriever after it was captured on videotape taking four ceramic figurines from a woman's yard in McLean.
Fairfax County police said Friday that the dog is a suspect in four other heists.
In June, police said, Ruth Breiner, 75, asked for help in stopping a series of thefts from her yard. A ceramic raccoon vanished in April. A small deer figurine disappeared in early June. Another deer went June 14, and then a squirrel on June 16.
Fairfax police set up a video surveillance system, Officer Sophia Grinnan said. They caught the thief - on videotape - but the thefts haven't stopped. Grinnan said four more figurines were stolen late at night, and the culprit each time was a Labrador that scooped up the small items with his mouth and trotted off.

Dog Training/Behavioral Help
***************************
Editor's Note: Sometimes we need help altering our dog's behavior. Selecting a Good Trainer is important. The article below tells how.
Choosing a Dog Trainer
Too many dogs are given up after their normal, easily modifiable behaviors are allowed to become problems. But it doesn't have to be this way. To prevent your dog from becoming a sad statistic, take your dog-and your family-to a professional dog training class. A good training class is a fun, social activity that helps your dog become a well-behaved, safe, and valued family member. This information will help you find the dog trainer and class environment that best fits your budget and needs.
Why is training my dog a necessity?
As a dog owner, one of the first questions you may ask is, Does my new companion need training? Yes, and so do you! Whether you are intentionally teaching him or not, your canine friend is always learning-and this is true not just for puppies but also for older, adult dogs. If you do not teach your pet your rules, he will invent his own. Training allows caregivers to safely and humanely control their dog's behavior. Positive training enhances the bond between dog and owner, and helps ensure that your dog will respond happily to your instructions.

Need Help With A Hyper Dog?
This is our most popular story from working with animals at our shop:
We had a couple who used herbs and had a hyper Rottweiler that would race to
the door to "greet" anybody that visited. With an in-home business
and customers picking up orders, this family needed some calming herbs for the
dog. They began giving him VALERIAN ROOT and in about a week, the dog knew he
needed it. Anytime they would grab a bottle of herbs, whether for themselves
or him, the dog would come running and beg for a capsule. Most pets' instincts
are still tuned in to nature. If you've got a hyper cat or dog, try Valerian
Root. http://www.theherbsplace.com/valerian.html

Cat Training Behavioral Help
***************************
When Discipline is Needed With a Cat
From Franny Syufy, Your Guide to Cats.
How to Identify and Correct Real Behavioral Problems
Although a concerned cat caregiver may find occasions when discipline is necessary
for a behavioral problem, more often than not, that behavior is the cat's way
of letting its human know that there is a problem with something in the household.
Cats are basically pretty well-behaved critters, and rarely "act out" unless there is a problem. For example, a cat will not urinate on your bed because he is "mad" at you, nor scratch the arms of your favorite chair because he is "stubborn."
Effective correction of a true behavioral problem is a three-fold process:
1. Determine first, if it is really a behavioral problem
2. If not, find and correct the real causes of the undesirable behavior
3. In the rare cases of a true behavioral problem, find and use a correct    means
of discipline or retraining.

Kitten Gets A Wheelchair!
ASHLAND (AP) -- A kitten whose back was broken by a raccoon is getting its own wheelchair thanks to a veterinarian and her fiance.
Dr. Alice Davis of Bear Creek Animal Clinic and fiance Gordon Sievers made the kitten, Little Draggin' Bear, its own pair of wheels.
They hit on the idea after doing some research on the Internet. After several attempts, the pair successfully constructed a multicolored cart for Draggin' Bear. The kitten relaxes in a sling created from a headband and stays snug in his wheels with Velcro ties.
Now the kitten travels with ease, the four-wheeled chariot zipping along as he runs, his back legs lagging behind.
"He doesn't seem to know or realize he's different," Davis said. "He's
one of the most playful kittens I've ever seen."
